We Do NOT Support Fast Fashion
April is a special month for us at Meadow Collective for a lot of reasons. But the main two are Earth Day and Fashion Revolution. As a boutique that sources sustainable fashion and gifts from sustainable brands like Spell, Indah, and Nine Lives Bazaar as well as local artisans, we’re trying to do our part to bring awareness to the horrors of the fast fashion industry.
Denim, denim, denim
A good pair of jeans is probably the most versatile thing you will ever have in your closet. It goes with almost everything. Depending on the wash, cut, and fit, jeans can be dressed up or dressed down. They can be paired with prints, neutrals, solids, different textures, and even denim (we’re pro-Canadian tuxedo). And not only is it just jeans, a jean skirt, jean jacket, and jean shorts are all key elements to your wardrobe.
What to Wear for Spring
we’re having a bit of a cowboy boot moment here at Meadow Collective. They’re the perfect shoewear for spring, and even Bella Hadid has hopped on the cowgirl aesthetic.
Meadow’s St. Patrick’s Day Picks
Hello friends! I can’t believe we’re already in March. It seems like 2024 is flying by, and I want to slow the year down by sharing some more festive posts and outfits. Since St. Patrick’s Day is quickly approaching, we’ve put together some of our favorite green, St. Paddy’s Day-inspired items and outfits to celebrate.
Meadow’s Easy Last-Minute Halloween Costumes
Halloween is right around the corner, and Halloweekend is upon us! If you’ve had a busy fall like we’ve had, then planning what you’re going to wear for Halloween can seem like a stressful last-minute endeavor. And you can’t show up to the Halloween party costume-less, but do you really want to spend money on a costume that you’re ultimately going to throw away?
Meadow’s Fall Favorites
September 22nd was officially the first day of fall, and even though it’s still ridiculously hot in Miami, I’m ready to wear booties, layers, and jeans. I’m ready for darker, richer colors and knit fabrics. I’m ready for cooler days and nights when I can have a bonfire without sweating through my clothes. And most of all, I’m ready for fall fashion.
Meadow Collective Picks: Dani
Keeping up with my last post. I’d like to take the time to thank all the people who make Meadow Collective happen: friends, family, customers, and of course my team of girls who help me run the shop, create content, and keep me sane. A couple of weeks ago, I introduced Lindsey and her favorite items from the shop. This week it’s Dani!
Meadow Collective Picks: Lindsey
I first met Lindsey rollerskating. I immediately loved her energy. She was so welcoming and encouraging, and she helped introduce me to Miami’s rollerskating community. Through the last couple of years, I’ve been privileged to have Lindsey help me create content and promote the Meadow Collective dream, and I’m even more privileged to have gotten the chance to know such an amazing person.
What to Wear for the Fourth of July
Of course, when you’re thinking about what to wear on the Fourth of July, you’re thinking something along the lines of red, white, and blue. But that doesn’t mean that you have to wear all of them. A simple pair of blue jeans or cut-off jean shorts and a white tee is the perfect Americana-inspired Fourth of July outfit.
The Mermaidcore Aesthetic
With the rising trend of mermaidcore on TikTok and Instagram, the opening of “The Little Mermaid” couldn’t have come at a better time. I was super excited to style this look because I love the mermaidcore vibe. It’s casual and beachy…
The Best Mother’s Day Gifts
Mother’s Day is this weekend, and we couldn’t be more excited about it! This is one of my favorite holidays for a few reasons. Besides being a day that celebrates part of my identity, I love how this holiday celebrates the feminine and motherhood in general.
Meadow Collective Picks: Katelin
There are a lot of people that make the Meadow Collective dream possible. The shop wouldn’t be anything without you guys. Every time you chose to shop here you continue to make my dream come true. However, I do have to give a special shout-out to my team of girls.
Fashion Revolution
A lot of people often ask me why the stuff I sell is so expensive, and I get it. If you’re used to buying from fast fashion like SheIn or H&M, some of the stuff in my shop can seem outrageous. But every time someone asks me that, I tell them a little bit about the piece they just picked up.
Happy Earth Day!
This year for Earth Day I went up to Black Point Dump aka Mt.Trashmore. As the highest point in Miami, it really is like a little mountain. Before now, I had only ever seen it from the bay, and I was curious about what it would be like up close.
Our Sustainable Brands Featuring Rolla’s Jeans
There’s something so effortless and timeless about a good pair of jeans. You can dress them up with a pair of heels and some accessories, or you can dress them down with a graphic tee and some sneakers. They’re great for almost every occasion. I know firsthand how important a good pair of jeans can be. That’s why when I was looking for a jeans brand for the shop, I landed on Rolla’s Jeans.
Daisy Jones and The Six
Of course, while watching the series, I had to put together some Daisy Jones-inspired outfits. As I said before, one of my favorite things about the show was the fashion, so I had fun recreating and playing around with some looks that I think Daisy Jones herself would have loved.
Real Leather vs. Vegan Leather
I know I may get some hate for this, but I don’t support vegan leather. And I refuse to sell vegan leather because it violates one of the shop’s core principles: sustainability. Although it may seem counterintuitive, vegan leather is actually much worse for the environment than regular leather. Because, vegan leather is essentially plastic.
Outfits Inspired by Crystals
If you’ve been in my shop lately or follow me on Instagram, you know we’ve recently had some new additions to the shop, and it shouldn’t be a surprise because we’re constantly getting in new shipments. However, I recently went to the gem show in Arizona and picked up some crystals for the shop.
Spell’s Impact Report 2023
You guys know how much I love Spell. Their values align perfectly with everything the shop stands for: slow fashion, garments made with high-quality materials by fairly-treated workers, and a commitment toward sustainability. It’s all these things that can make fashion a part of our lives and world without destroying it. So, when I get Spell’s yearly impact report, you know I have to share it.
Thank You.
I remember when I first opened up the shop. I wasn’t sure how people would take it. I didn’t even know that there was even a market for what I wanted to sell in Miami: sustainably sourced, eco-conscious, high-quality clothing. But over time, Meadow Collective has grown a little following, and I’ve met some of the most amazing people in the community. Even after we’ve had some successes, I still can’t believe when a magazine wants to interview me.
